Oliver's Service -
September 2011 Matt
and Emma's first son, Peter and Anne's first grandson and Chris'
nephew Oliver David Steward was still born on September 1st, 2011. WE
dedicate this family web site to Oliver's memory. "You
never uttered a single cry You
never took a single breath But
you will breath and live within our hearts for ever." "Sometimes
love lasts a moment Sometimes
love lasts a lifetime Sometimes
a moment is a lifetime."
Time is too slow for
those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love, time is
Eternity
Henry Van Dyke
Oliver
is buried in Hethersett Churchyard. A special service for him was
held on Wednesday 14th September, led by the Rector of Hethersett
The Rev Di Lammas. The
following pieces of music were played during the service:
Fields
of Gold – Eva Cassidy
You'll remember me
when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
So she took her love for to gaze awhile
Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
As you lie in fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
Lost
– Michael Buble
I can\'t believe
it's over
I watched the whole thing fall
And I never saw the writing that was on the wall
If I'd only knew
The days were slipping past
That the good things never last
That you were crying
Summer turned to winter
And the snow it turned to rain
And the rain turned into tears upon your face
I hardly recognize the girl you are today
And God I hope it's not too late
It\'s not too late
'Cause you are not alone
I\'m always there with you
And we'll get lost together
Until the light comes pouring through
It\'s when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When your world's crashing down
And you can't bear the cross
I said, babe, you're not lost
Life can show no mercy
It can tear your soul apart
It can make you feel like you've gone crazy but you're not
Things have seemed to change
There's one thing that's still the same
In my heart you have remained
And we can fly fly fly away
'Cause you are not alone
And I am there with you
And we'll get lost together
Until the light comes pouring through
It\'s when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you\'re not lost
And the world\'s crashing down
And you can not bear the cross
I said, baby, you're not lost
I said, baby, you're not lost
I said, baby, you're not lost
I said, baby, you're not lost
Angel - Westlife
Spend all your time
waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always one reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here
so tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lie
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees
in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here
The following poems
were read by the Rector:
My Little Angel
You've
just walked on ahead of me
And
I've got to understand
You
must release the ones you love
And
let go of their hand.
I
try and cope the best I can
But
I'm missing you so much
If
I could only see you
And
once more feel your touch.
Yes,
you've just walked on ahead of me
Don't
worry I'll be fine
But
now and then I swear I feel
Your
hand slip into mine.
Little
Snowdrop
The
world may never notice
If
a Snowdrop doesn't bloom,
Or
even pause to wonder
If
the petals fail too soon.
But
every life that ever forms,
Or
ever comes to be
Touches
the world in some small way
For
all eternity.
The
little one we long for
Was
swiftly here and gone
But
the love that was then planted
Is
a light that still shines on
And
though our arms are empty
Our
hearts know what to do
Every
beating of our hearts
Says
that we love you.
