Deja Vu

Deja Vu - Atlantic Records 1970 - 6

Returning to this album after many years I find it rather dated, but of course it does have its place in rock history. I still find it rather patchy, however, with the excellence of Our House, Deja Vu, Woodstock and Teach Your Children being augmented by some rather lightweight songs and the album is disappointingly short at under 35 minutes. The excellent harmonies do manage to maintain some of its freshness and prevent it from becoming a total dinosaur. It does illustrate once again how much I prefer the work of Neil Young and Graham Nash to Steve Stills and David Crosby.
